Microsoft Student Partner experiences!!!!

7^th February 2009

One of the most important days of my entire life, because on this very special day I got the recruitment letter to be Microsoft Student Partner – to be one among the only 1445 MSPs in the whole world representing 91 nations. Oh! What a sense of achievement to be among the elite!

This followed the invitation to the Microsoft Boot Camp at the MS Campus, Gachibowli, Hyderabad and here is how the experience was…..

(6th to 8th March 2009)

6th March - It all started when the shuttle to take us to the MS campus arrived at 4pm to Ella Suites, our hotel. Once we reached the exorbitant MS campus, we were welcomed by the magnificent structures of hi-tech buildings spread over 54 acres and replicating the very texture of Redmond.

First Up we had a meeting with the Recruitment Team, followed by a impressive presentation on the recruitment practices at MS.

Followed by a delicious buffet marking the end of the day!!!

7th March - It started with a knowledgeable presentation on MS SQL Server 2008- consisting of the improvements in the analysis &reporting facilities and the introduction of the business intelligence package.

Windows Mobile Architecture presentation followed this which was just awesome. It felt so easy job that we thought yes! the next Blackberry or Htc Touch version will be powered by our very own custom designed operating system.

Post lunch session made us aware of the File security. A contentful presentation telling us about the nature and remedies for SQL injection, Cross scripting etc.

This followed the most awaited of all the session, a session on cloud computing and Windows Azure- It was just cool!!! The technology seemed had no limits....

The last session belong to the 3 musketeers-(Mark D'Souza, Sidharth and Reza) who gave us some insight on cool statistics, Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8.

But the surprises weren't over we got our Identity Cards, Our own visiting Cards and a host of goodies. Followed by a cool disc with a DJ and a yummy buffet surely an icing on the cake to marks the days end.

8th March - A long walk from our hotel rooms with our baggage marked the beginning of the day because it was the check out time. Some still if they had a dream or what??Some felt were we ever been through all this fun?

But in MS campus what awaited us was a even better.

First up was the Interaction between MSP and Academic Team who answered all our queries.

This followed a cool demo which gave us an insight on Microsoft in future and it looked like nothing ever seen.

Next up was a presentation by our peers ( other MSP) on the stuff of future like Robotics and Mash Up and it was just awesome..

This was followed by a buffet Lunch and we all started our farewell- bidding bye to all the new friends which we had made, who looked now like our friends of a long time, some exchanging their contacts, I must say a painful experience.

In the Nutshell - This camp had given us immensely to retrospect upon - the depth of knowledge, the exposure, and the experience was just tremendous!

Over all the Boot Camp was Awe... Awe... Awe... Awesome!!!
