Gearing up for Masters/PhD in Computer Science - 3 Basics you need to know (Part1)

Its great to know that you have decided on embarking on a journey to Master or Research in the area of Computer Science.

Students who come to do their higher studies have varying backgrounds. Some belong to the category of focused and really have the background of they wanna do. This post is not meant for people belonging to this category.

This post is meant for students like me ;) Who know they wanna know MS/PhD for various reasons but have forgotten the basics for 'N' reasons. Be it because they didn't care when the subject was taught during their under-graduate or were away from academics doing a job  which was totally different from the area which you wanna do your Masters/PhD in and so on.

A realization has dawned upon me after having done the mistake of not refreshing on the basics of Computer Science before I came here, entailing me to take under-graduate courses again.

If your area of interest is in the field of general Computer Science by that I mean area of Formal Thinking and Systems than Applications you need to just (by just I mean at least) 3 things. For people who are interested in the area of Applications then visibly you do need to understand that area of Application that you interested in.

Since you need to know 3 things it means you need just 3 hours a day ;)

I am a guy who is more interested in Computer research but I believe knowing either of these 3 things extremely well, will also help you take challenging jobs after your MS or PhD.

I would advise you to devote just 3 hours of your day for gearing up to going into study mode before you start with your course. Else, I believe it might be very tough for you.

So lets together help each other to excel in our journey :)

I wanna keep my posts short so that you aren't stupefied by the verbose posts... Thus I will explain the 3 things over the course of 3 more posts.
